Represent us... as in represent what are true nature is? Or what we ideally like to think of ourselves as? Or "represent" as in the person who can speak for all of mankind?

In my eyes, if we want to represent what humanity really is... take a single mother, with 3 kids, struggling to keep up with 2 full-time jobs, making some big mistakes and just barely getting by.

If we want to represent what is best about us... take someone who is fighting for a cause they believe in and has sacrificed nearly everything to just make their voice heard.

To represent as a whole, speak for us? a child. One who can still dream, believes the best in people, maybe naive but looks at the world with a fresh perspective and sees all people and animals as equal.

Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ

12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned— 13for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. 14Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.

15But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

18Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

20The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

So everyone needs Jesus because Adam sinned and are in need of a savior.

John put it this way,
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

So as you can see. If you do or do not believe is irrelevant. Jesus' existance is a fact. Not even the Muslims nor the Jews will deny that the ROMAN's recorded that JESUS actually existed and was crucified, he died and was burried. On the third day He rose again! Concoring death and giving EVERYONE that chooses to believe Eternal life..

Now the point of this thread. Jesus WILL be the one that stands as the ADVOCATE before the THONE of GOD to say if we are Sheep, or Goats.

FACT: WE ALL DIE
Question: Where will you be. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me." All are welcome at the foot of the cross.

In closing, Paul said, "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

there's not a single person who can represent humanity. period. people are just too different for there to be ONE person to represent them all equally.

it brings up questions of race, religion, intelligence, sexuality, nationality, language, and on and on.

i think Inde was closest in choosing a child, but if we are ever presented with the opportunity, i hope instead that we as a species choose to send not a person, but a message.

Impossible. Unless you can find someone capable of killing thousands of people while also dedicating themselves to curing the diseases the plague the world, athletic in some fields, artistic, handicapped, bisexual, a hermaphrodite, adept in the sciences and math, either a judge, cop or firemen, so on and so forth. You're not going to be able to find someone who represents the entire spectrum of humanity when you consider every facet. No matter who you consider you're leaving plenty of attributes out.
